Making headway at last!!!
I had to take apart the restore script and do my own database export to move from the dockerised version of 2.9.0 to 3.0. Looks like it is working so far 
Also, Postgreses pg_hba.conf gave me trouble, denied access to the database when creating a new db and exporting the docker db into it!
